From September 15th – 16th, 2021 OptiPro hosted its annual Technology Open House featuring Mastercam Rollouts in person this year. After a year of hiatus from events due to COVID-19, our team was excited to invite customers into our facility to showcase a full showroom floor alongside vendors and demos. This years’ event focused on automation solutions.
As a result of the pandemic, the workforce is faced with the problem of a labor shortage. We have heard from customers the struggle to not only find skilled machinists but machinists in general. With the partnership of robots and cobots, shops can continue to meet their production deadlines and requirements.
“Becoming a Fanuc integrator early in 2020 has given us the ability to provide our customers with a complete solution that address their staffing shortage,” commented Ken Johnson, Machine Tool Division Manager. During our open house we configured two machines with FANUC robots, KIWA Triple H40 and Hyundai Wia HD2200SY.
Attendees also witnessed demos on Swistek, Nakamura-Tome, Hyundai Wia, Fanuc Robodrill and the new Fanuc Ci400C Wire EDM. Our Metrology department focused on quality inspection demos with Starrett Vision Systems, ZEISS and Renishaw with their new Equator Gauging System.
The showcase of demos was complimented by our featured vendors. This year, two of our vendors were focused on machine and tool monitoring. Down time is every shops’ worst enemy, but what if you could see where your machines were underperforming or how you could get more use out of your tools? Mastercam 2022 new feature short courses were hosted in person with Mastercam Corporate staff participating in presenting the powerful new release. Customers were able to share feedback in person and learn more about the new release including features such as 3D High Speed Dynamic Optirough.
